The SpectraMax 190 Microplate Spectrophotometer from Molecular Devices combines the flexibility of a spectrophotometer with the efficiency of a microplate reader and enhances the assessment of a wide variety of biochemical assays.The SpectraMax 190 is easily programmable using SAMI® NT (Automated Methods Development Interface) with optimized scheduling within a SAGIAN™ Core System. A Xenon flash lamp and holographic grating monochromator allow the SpectraMax 190 to accurately select any wavelength between 190 nm and 850 nm for reading.When programmed with a precise wavelength frequency within that range,the SpectraMax 190 instantly tunes in to that wavelength for quantification of test samples. For aqueous solutions, PathCheck senses the depth of the liquid in each microplate well and normalizes the absorbance value to a 1 cm pathlength.The corrected absorbance is within 5% of the value obtained in a conventional spectrophotometer. Now you can easily use the extinction coefficient of your sample to calculate concentration directly, correct for volume differences in the wells, expand the dynamic range of your assay, detect pipetting errors, and check performance of your pipetting devices. The SpectraMax 190 brings many other important features to your laboratory assay processes. Best known for offering precise absorbance measurements, the SpectraMax 190 may be used to conduct kinetic reading experiments. Interpretation of data files from the screening process is now available with SoftMax Pro v2.1 software’s ability to import ASCII data.
