Biomek® Stacker 10

Ten-position stack for Stacker Carousel. Accommodates lidded and unlidded AP96 / AP384 tip racks, deep-well plates, microplate stacks, modular reservoirs, and microplates.

Stacker Carousels come in two configurations, for use on the left or right side of the Multimek™ 96 worksurface. If needs change, carousels can be modified in the field by a trained Beckman Coulter engineer to operate on the reverse side of the Multimek™ 96. As many as to two carousels, each with up to four stackers, may be used on one instrument.

There are three types of stackers. The Stacker HD holds plates in a true "stack," sitting directly on top of each other. Approximately 45 microplates or 15 deep-well plates may be stacked in HD stackers. The Stacker 10 and Stacker 20 feature discrete shelves for the plates to sit on. The Stacker 20 holds 20 microplates and the Stacker 10 holds 10 deep-well plates, reservoirs and/or microplates. Plates are transferred to and from the stackers at the bottom via a shuttle mechanism. The plates are shuttled from the stackers to the Multimek™ 96 worksurface where they are directly accessed by the Multimek™ 96 pipette head. Control of the Stacker Carousel system is achieved with Stacker Carousel Software that interleaves stacker movements with Multimek™ 96 pipetting methods. Programming is accomplished using the same intuitive flowchart technique used to program the Multimek™ 96.
