The nanoVette is an accessory specifically designed for your Beckman Coulter spectrophotometer that allows the measurement of dsDNA concentrations ranging from 10 ng/µL to 5000 ng/µL - with as little as 0.7 µL of sample and without dilution. Perfect for DNA and protein applications, the nanoVette fits easily into your DU® 730 or DU 800 spectrophotometer for sub-microliter analysis and removes just as easy when measuring larger samples - providing maximum flexibility with the spectrophotometer.
The nanoVette works by reducing the optical pathlength from the traditional 10 mm to either 1 mm or 0.2 mm. This is done with interchangeable pathlength lids - the 1.0 mm pathlength lid is used for smaller concentrations (from 10 ng/µL to 1000 ng/µL dsDNA) whereas the 0.2 mm pathlength lid can be used over a larger concentration range (from 200 ng/µL to 5,000 ng/uL dsDNA). The table below gives the measurement ranges for each of the pathlength lids for common applications*.
| | Sample Specific Factor | 1.0 mm Lid (virtual dilution factor 10) [ng/µL] | 0.2 mm Lid (virtual dilution factor 50) [ng/µL] | Total Detection Range [ng/ µL] |
| dsDNA | 50 | 10 – 1,000 | 200 – 5,000 | 10 – 5,000 |
| ssDNA | 37 | 7 -740 | 150 – 3,700 | 7 – 3,700 |
| ssRNA | 40 | 8 - 800 | 160 – 4,000 | 8 – 4,000 |
| Oligo | 30 | 6 - 600 | 120 – 3,000- | 6 – 3,000 |
* The ranges for ssDNA, ssRNA and Oligo are based on the results from dsDNA.
