New Luminometer Delivers High Sensitivity Detection Fullerton,CA (June 17, 2002) – Beckman Coulter, Inc. introduces the LD 400 Luminescence Detector, a highly sensitive instrument with a luminescent dynamic range of >8 decades. The LD 400 measures both flash and glow luminescence, and has the added flexibility of performing photometric measurements on the same instrument. It is suited for most biological and chemiluminescent microplate assays, including dual luciferase, reporter gene, toxicity, ATP, BioMass, ELISAs and protein quantification. The detector also features sophisticated, easy-to-use software for qualitative and quantitative data evaluations, as well as a dual injection dispenser system that allows dispensing in 50ul increments. "The LD 400 provides customers an economical lab solution with its ability to perform not only high sensitivity luminescence measurements, but absorbance measurements as well," explains Matt Maloney, Product Manager for Beckman Coulter. The LD 400 will be distributed in North America through VWR International.
