All standards contain scintillation grade fluors and toluene and are permanently flame-sealed under nitrogen in low potassium glass standard or mini-vials. The calibration of each standard is referenced to National Institute of Standards and Technology reference material. The accuracy of the calibration is ±3%.

Unquenched Standards for Optimum Instrument Performance
|

Unquenched standards are used to establish optimal instrument settings and to monitor long-term instrument performance. A set of three standards is provided with every scintillation counter: Tritium, Carbon-14, and a background standard. The standards are available in standard vial (20 mL) and mini-vial (7 mL) sizes.

Quenched Standards for Setting up Quench Curves
|

These standards are used to establish quench curves, each contain exactly the same amount of radioactivity, but are quenched progressively to lower counting efficiencies by the addition of a quenching agent. Each set contains 10 standards. The quench standard sets are available in standard vial (20 mL) and mini-vial (7 mL) sizes for Tritium and 14C.
