The Multimek Stacker carousel provides external supply and storage of microplates and deep-well plates for the Multimek 96 Automated 96-Channel Pipettor. Stacker Carousels come in two configurations, for use on the left or right side of the Multimek 96 worksurface. There are three types of stackers. The Stacker HD holds plates in a true "stack," sitting directly on top of each other. Approximately 45 microplates or 15 deep-well plates may be stacked in HD stackers. The Stacker 10 and Stacker 20 feature discrete shelves for the plates to sit on. The Stacker 20 holds 20 microplates and the Stacker 10 holds 10 deep-well plates, reservoirs and/or microplates.

The Multimek Stacker Carousel Bar Code reader accessory reads and logs bar codes on the microplates as they pass by. As the method is executed, the bar codes of the plates on the work surface and the method name are logged. The Bar Code Reader is compatible with various bar codes including Code 39, Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, UPC/EAN, and Code 128.

The Bar Code Reader mounts on the Stacker Carousel shuttle tunnel. It can be mounted to read any of the four sides of the microplate. Application of the bar codes on the short ends of the plates is preferred.

The deck of the Multimek 96 can be configured in several ways to accommodate automatic tip-loading and tip-washing stations. The five-position deck accommodates five plates/reservoirs and an automatic tip-loading station. The four-position deck accommodates four plates/reservoirs, an automatic tip loading station and a tip washing station.

There are two disposable tip pipette heads available for the Multimek 96:

• 200 µL head for pipetting 5

• 200 µL-50 µL head for pipetting 1 - 50 µL

• The heads may be interchanged by a trained operator.

Tip wash systems reduce running costs by curtailing or eliminating the use of tips. Each wash system includes a wash station for the Multimek 96 deck, a wash pump, a supply tank, and a drain/waste tank. A wash system occupies one position on the Multimek 96 deck.
