The Hybritech Tandem-R PSA and Tandem-R free PSA tests were the first such tests of their kind approved by the FDA to aid in prostate cancer diagnosis and monitoring. Beckman Coulter continues to support research on new markers for prostate cancer, including new tests for BPH (BPH-A) and greater cancer specificity (proPSA).
Beckman Coulter also is a proud sponsor of Prostate Cancer Awareness Week, a program that sponsors free or low cost prostate cancer screenings across the country. For these events, Beckman Coulter donates its Hybritech PSA and free PSA tests, as well as tests for testosterone and total cholesterol. Prostate Cancer Awareness Week is a project of the Prostate Cancer Education Council (PCEC), a consortium of leading physicians, health educators, scientists and prostate cancer advocates.
In addition, we sponsor races in the PACE Race 5K Run/Walk Series. The PACE Races are a series of events throughout the U.S. held to increase awareness and early detection of prostate cancer, and to educate men and their families on treatment options and other men’s health issues.
