The MagneSil™ Technology
MagneSil™ particles represent a unique technology for purifying nucleic acids. The use of these paramagnetic particles allows flexibility in purifying nucleic acids from a variety of starting materials.
MagneSil™ particles have a number of properties that make them suitable for use on automated instruments. The small particle size and high binding capacity enables reaction volumes compatible with a 96-well plate, allowing complete automation of the purification process.
The result is a versatile technology, ideal for high-throughput applications.

Wizard® MagneSil™ Plasmid Purification System

The Wizard® MagneSil™ Plasmid Purification System offers a cost-effective method for purifying high-quality plasmid DNA. The system is designed exclusively for use with automated instruments allowing truly "walkaway" high-throughput plasmid purification.
MagneSil™ Paramagnetic Particles are used in separate steps to clear bacterial lysates (MagneSil™ BLUE) and to capture plasmid DNA (MagneSil™ RED). The use of particles circumvents the need for centrifugation or vacuum manifolds, making the system ideal for automation. Eluted DNA is ready for use in fluorescent sequencing reactions as well as other standard molecular biology techniques.

Wizard® MagneSil™ PCR Clean-Up System

The Wizard® MagneSil™ PCR Clean-Up System is designed to remove impurities from PCR reactions, resulting in high quality and yield of double-stranded PCR products. This novel system removes primers and non-targeted amplification products, such as primer-dimers and excess nucleotides, from PCR reactions. The system is designed to be automated on laboratory robotic systems for unattended purification.
The MagneSil™ PCR Clean-Up procedure is fast and reliable. PCR products bind to MagneSil™ Particles (MagneSil™ Yellow) in the presence of guanidine hydrochloride and remain tightly bound during washing. Purified DNA is eluted in water and may be used for automated fluorescent sequencing and microarray spotting.

Wizard® MagneSil™ Sequencing Reaction Clean-Up System

The Wizard® MagneSil™ Sequencing Reaction Clean-Up System is a high-throughput solution to sample purification. The system is designed to purify BigDye™ terminator cycle sequencing reactions to ensure optimal fluorescent sequencing results. The system removes buffer salts and unincorporated dye-labeled terminators from sequencing extension products prior to loading onto a fluorescent instrument.
MagneSil™ Green particles selectively bind to sequencing extension products. Non-specifically adsorbed material is washed away with ethanol. The purified sequencing extension products are eluted in gel loading solution and are ready to be analyzed by high-throughput DNA sequencing.
