Identify, Diagnose and Manage Sepsis Efficiently with Interdisciplinary Testing

Presented by:
Barbara L. Zimmer, Ph.D.
Principal Scientist, Scientific Affairs
Beckman Coulter, Inc.

Location: Industry & Science Showcase Theater North, Exhibit Hall

Date: Saturday, June 22, 1:00 –1:45 p.m.

Sepsis is a global crisis affecting millions of people and costing healthcare organizations billions of dollars. Additionally, sepsis is often difficult to diagnose, treatment is resource intensive and time is critical for positive patient outcomes. Improved outcomes are shown with identifying and diagnosing early, and monitoring patient response to treatment by serial testing. Beckman Coulter’s comprehensive solutions spanning hematology, microbiology, immunoassay, chemistry and urinalysis can be utilized from the moment the patient enters the emergency department through time spent in intensive care. Our unique offering of Early Sepsis Indicator and lactate can help identify sepsis earlier, antimicrobial treatment can be refined with rapid bacteria identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing and patient response to treatment can be monitored with procalcitonin.

Join Beckman Coulter’s ASM Microbe Showcase, “Identify, Diagnose and Manage Sepsis Efficiently with Interdisciplinary Testing” to discover how you can know sooner and act faster when diagnosing and treating sepsis.
