At Beckman Coulter, we are committed to giving our associates career growth and development opportunities.

Javier Perez, the senior director of manufacturing for the eastern United States (U.S.) region, joined Beckman Coulter Diagnostics more than 30 years ago. His story is an example of the career growth associates can accomplish within the company.

Early Career

Perez joined Beckman Coulter (Coulter Electronics) in 1986 working on the Hematology assembly line. At the time, Perez was a college student studying engineering and wanted to work for a medical device manufacturing company.

“I wanted the opportunity to get my foot in the door,” said Perez.

Soon after obtaining his degree in engineering, Perez joined the Technical Operations team. He later progressed to become the senior manager of the Technical Operations team based in Miami. After obtaining his master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Perez was promoted to director of the Reagents Manufacturing in Miami.

Why Beckman Coulter Diagnostics?

Perez describes his career with Beckman Coulter as a gratifying experience and attributes his success to great managers, great culture and great people. While Perez pursued his educational goals, he was supported by the company’s tuition assistance program which paid for a portion of his bachelor’s degree and MBA.

In addition to the people and work culture, Perez continues to be inspired by the company’s mission – Advancing Healthcare for Every Person. “I love what we do for humanity and our customers. I’ll never forget visiting a laboratory at a children’s hospital and seeing Beckman Coulter instruments at work.”

Perez believes Beckman Coulter offers associates more than a “job.”

“The company offers a career and great support system to the associates,” said Perez. “What we do here is special and we are given the opportunity to be creative and grow to our fullest potential.”
