Turning Challenging Obstacles to Significant Wins

Meet Laura Holmes from Chaska, Minnesota, U.S. She began her career at Beckman Coulter as an entry-level mechanical engineer and has now been with the company for 17 years. She’s currently part of the Instrument R&D team, which focuses on new product development. In this short video, Laura shares her recent experience working with passionate cross-functional teams.

"The last couple of years working at Beckman Coulter have really been an ongoing example for me of the best team wins. Working in new product development, you’re bound to run into new and unique challenges, and we’ve run into a few new challenges recently.

Despite the complexity and the high visibility of the work, people are quick to jump onto cross-functional teams to investigate the issues and come up with potential solutions. The team members have really been so supportive of one another and united in their desire to deliver the best product possible to our customers. They’ve worked relentlessly to preserve program schedules, and everyone has really been more than willing to help out on whatever task is needed to get the job done. The teamwork and support driving to a common goal has been phenomenal and has really turned challenging obstacles into significant wins."
