When Efficiency Meets Clinical Excellence, Every Moment Matters

See how two healthcare organizations bring these approaches to life in real-world settings—and what happens when efficiency and clinical excellence align.
When Efficiency Meets Clinical Excellence, Every Moment Matters

More and more, healthcare teams are finding themselves at a crossroad. Facing complex disease states and evolving patient populations, they are called to diagnose and treat with confidence and precision. At the same time, they are under pressure to work more efficiently, deliver results faster, and serve as many patients as possible.

This combination of efficiency and clinical excellence is crucial for healthcare organizations to achieve. Efficiency without clinical impact cannot support your greater purpose to care for patients. And while clinical excellence is essential, if you can’t deliver it efficiently at scale, your impact will be limited. This understanding led us to develop two philosophies that guide everything we do: Advantaged Workflows and Advancing Clinical Capabilities.

How Clinical Excellence and Efficiency Make
Every Moment Matter

These philosophies are more than guiding principles; they are used by care teams every day to power the moments that matter for their patients, organizations, and communities. Here are two examples of how Advantaged Workflows and Advancing Clinical Capabilities are coming together to make a difference in healthcare organizations today:

Enhancing Diagnostics and Automation to Improve Patient Care in Potenza, Italy

Over the last three years, the CEDIA Laboratory (Centro di Diagnostica Avanzata di Laboratorio) at the San Carlo Regional Hospital in Potenza, Italy, has fully integrated the DxI 9000 Immunoassay Analyzer and DxA 5000 Total Lab Automation System. Over that time, the team has noted remarkable improvements not only in laboratory efficiency, but in its support for clinical care as well.

With the Latest Immunoassay Testing and Total Laboratory Automation, the CEDIA Laboratory Has Been Empowered to Deliver

“[We have experienced] three years of collaboration that have transformed not just our workflows, but our standard of care. These improvements are not merely operational metrics. They translate directly into clinical value: physicians receive results faster and with greater reliability, and patients—our true reason for being—benefit from timely diagnoses and safer therapeutic pathways.”
Dr. Vito Pafundi
Director of the Advanced Laboratory Diagnostic Center

Expanding Testing Capacity and Improving Accuracy in Sebokeng, South Africa

In the past, when the team at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) Sebokeng in Gauteng, South Africa relied on aging equipment and inefficient workflows, they often struggled to keep pace with their growing testing demands. Upgrading to the DxA 5000 Total Lab Automation System has helped the NHLS team power faster turnaround times, reduce errors, and increase their testing capacity—so they can take on more in-house testing and support important community outreach programs.

In addition to its regular testing, the NHLS runs community awareness campaigns (e.g., tuberculosis testing) several times a year. With the DxA 5000 system delivering fast, reliable results, the laboratory team can leverage the accurate diagnostics and efficient workflows they need to support this important outreach.
