Join us at ASM Microbe 2026
American Society for Microbiology Microbe
June 4-7, 2026 | Washington, DC
Why Attend ASM Microbe?
Emerging antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is rising globally, directly responsible for at least 1.27 million deaths and associated with nearly 5 million deaths each year.¹ Antibiotic susceptibility testing plays a crucial role in the patient treatment journey. Join leading experts, explore cutting-edge research, and network with peers in a dynamic setting in Washington, D.C.

Dual Lenses on Diagnostic Stewardship: Syndromic Molecular Testing and Phenotypic ID/AST
Thursday, June 4, 1:00-1:45 (Room 150AB)
Diagnostic stewardship demands precision at every step, through every result reported and every test ordered. This workshop examines two independent pillars of the clinical microbiology laboratory: syndromic molecular GI panel testing and phenotypic ID/AST. Through case-based discussion and expert commentary, attendees will explore how each platform shapes test utilization, reflex testing decisions, and reporting practices. Topics include algorithm design, turnaround time impact, cascade reporting, and ASP collaboration. Practical takeaways applicable across academic, community, and reference laboratory settings.
