Infection and Sepsis Diagnostic Challenges for Laboratories and Clinicians

The burden sepsis places on global health—which includes high mortality rates and cost of treatment—highlights the need for better early detection and diagnostic testing.

Now there is a new hematology-based solution designed to alert emergency department clinicians to the possibility of sepsis or risk of developing sepsis: Monocyte Distribution Width.* This new parameter—available on the Beckman Coulter DxH 900 and DxH 690T hematology analyzer—can be offered as part of a routine CBC with differential test.

In this workshop, recorded at the 31st International Symposium on Technical innovations in Laboratory Hematology, you will find out more about the challenges faced by laboratories and clinicians when detecting infections and sepsis, and how this rapid and simple early warning solution can help.
